Omar Smith
Senior Associate
Omar is a Senior Associate at Blackhorn Ventures responsible for sourcing and conducting diligence on new investments and providing advisory support to portfolio companies. Omar joins the team after concluding his MBA at Columbia University where he led the Columbia Venture Fellows program and worked with Precursor Ventures and Comcast Ventures.
Omar has a background in data and analytics, having helped scale the Insights function at LinkedIn as well as serving as a consultant and advisor to several early stage companies. His extensive experience developing tools focused on workflow automation and predictive analytics led him to develop theses on the future of work and digital transformation in overlooked industries.
Omar graduated from Stanford with an M.S. in Earth Systems and a B.A. in Economics. In his free time he enjoys camping/backpacking, snowboarding, seeing live music, and spending time with friends and family. He currently lives and works in New York City.
