Micah Kotch is a Founding Partner of climate investment syndicate C3, and formerly the Managing Director of URBAN-X for MINI/BMW, the leading accelerator for startups reimagining city life where he built a portfolio of 70+ pre-seed and seed stage companies in mobility, energy, real estate, and urban infrastructure.
Micah started his first company putting games on phones in China in 1998 and has been working with startups ever since. He was Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering where he launched NYC’s first sponsored tech incubator, the Urban Future Lab - helping emerging companies address climate and resiliency opportunities. At NYSERDA, Micah served as Strategic Advisor for Innovation where he led a team focused on utility business model innovation. He is a core national faculty member for the National Science Foundation’s I-CORPS program which helps commercialize federally-funded research.
Micah is a Brooklyn native (where he lives with his family) and a proud board member for Green City Force, a non-profit operating at the intersection of economic, environmental, and racial justice. He is a Next City Vanguard Fellow and a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network.
